Government to ease visa restrictions for foreign journalists
The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government is set to implement a new visa policy for foreign journalists. The initiative aims to improve media access and address complaints regarding the current visa procedures.

ISLAMABAD - The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government will ease restrictions and limitations on visas for foreign journalists, The Nation reported on Thursday.

The paper quoting Fawad Chaudhry, the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, said that the new visa policy will be much more relaxed.

“It is ridiculous to close your country to media,” the paper quoted the minister as saying.

Visa restrictions for Indian journalists will also be eased, the minister said.

Foreign journalists and media organisations have often complained of a restrictive and tedious visa process.
