Geo censors Ayaz Amir's comments during Hamid Mir's show
Amid concerns over press freedom, Geo News censored Ayaz Amir's remarks on Hamid Mir's Capital Talk show. The incident underscores the challenges faced by journalists in Pakistan.

ISLAMABAD—Geo News Monday censored senior political analyst and columnist Ayaz Amir's comments during Hamid Mir's Capital Talk show.

Mir, while discussing the press freedom situation in the country, asked: "Do you think that journalists who criticize all political parties are more vulnerable than those who take sides?"

Amir responded: "...bullets were fired at you. Did anyone get caught?" The scissors came soon after.

Some unknown people attacked Amir after he left the Dunya News offices last week in Lahore. The assailants beat Amir and his driver and took away the journalist's phone and wallet.
