Dysfunctional Tribal Union of Journalists to be reorganized and renamed
The Tribal Union of Journalists is poised for reorganization after being non-functional for three years. The move comes in light of the recent merger of tribal areas with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

JAMRUD – Following the merger of tribal areas with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, journalists in Khyber tribal district have decided to reorganize and rename the dysfunctional Tribal Union of Journalists.

According to Tribal News Network, the decision was taken at a meeting of Jamrud Press Club.

Journalist Ibrahim Shinwari asked journalists of other districts in erstwhile FATA to have their union that has become crucial after Fata-KP merger, TNN reported.

He said TUJ was non-functional for the last three years with no cabinet and offices where they could sit and work for the solution of their problems.

He said that ex-TUJ members would need to associate with KP union of journalists as well as other unions throughout the country after the merger of Tribal Areas into the province.
