Clear dues before Eid or face protests, RIUJ tells news organizations
The Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists is demanding timely payment of salaries. Failure to comply could lead to protests outside media houses.

ISLAMABAD – The Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ) has told news organizations to clear off all outstanding salaries and other dues of employees before Eid-ul-Fitr.

In a statement, the union’s General-Secretary Ali Raza Alvi warned of protests and sit-ins outside the media houses if the workers were not paid.

Many organizations continue to delay paying their employees, at times for months causing great inconvenience to them.
