PEMRA has acted against 7 News Television following complaints regarding unlawful staff firings and unpaid salaries. The channel must respond to the notice by August 18.

ISLAMABAD – The electronic media’s regulator PEMRA has issued a show cause notice to 7 News Television after receiving complaints it was firing staff without completing legal formalities and not paying salaries and dues.

A release said the employees had asked PEMRA to take strict action against the license holder. In the notice, the authority has asked the channel managers to explain why their license should not be cancelled or suspended. They have been given until August 18 to respond failing which PEMRA would take action.
