ISLAMABAD: The Press Council of Pakistan has formed a four member committee to decide on minimum qualifications for new entrants in reporting.
The committee comprising Mujeeb-ur-Reham Shami, Wamiq Zuberi, Nasir Zaidi and Dr. Shahjahan will consult such stakeholders as All-Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS), Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE), Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists and other relevant organizations before submitting its report.
The Press Council Registrar will assist the committee as its secretary. The committee’s report will be submitted with the council.
Currently there are no minimum educational qualifications specified for taking up a reporting job.
