DawnNews gets PEMRA notice for airing comments against judge
DawnNews received a PEMRA notice for airing controversial comments regarding a Supreme Court judge. The channel has until December 2 to respond.

ISLAMABAD – PEMRA Friday served a show cause notice on DawnNews for airing comments by a talk show guest who attempted to create doubt and suspicion about a Supreme Court judge.

The comments by MNA Salman Baloch, seen as objectionable by PEMRA, went on air in the program News Eye on November 22.

The electronic media watchdog has asked the channel to explain why a fine of Rs1 million not be imposed on them under relevant PEMRA rules, or its license not be suspended.

DawnNews has been given until December 2 to explain its position.
