ISLAMABAD: A full-page advertisement last week by an upcoming television channel offering employees mouthwatering packages and benefits has caused quite a stir in the media industry.
Since BOL advert appeared last Sunday, there have been reports of some of the industry’s big boys getting somewhat uneasy.
Insider reports say at least two television channels have blocked access to the new network’s website in their offices.
Already there are reports of some of the big names in journalism keen on joining the network that is offering salaries far above the industry average and bonuses of up to four gross salaries, provident fund, EOBI, transport, healthcare, interest-free loans and life insurance cover.
An impressive website promises to bring a revolution in Pakistan’s media industry. It says BOL is a complete media enterprise consisting of platforms that are important and relevant to audience, including Television (News, Entertainment and Sports), Digital Media (Web, Social Media & Media Apps), Print Media (Newspaper and Magazines), Cinemas & Movies, Theatre and Radio.
The channel is likely to go on air on August 14 and will become the fifth to be launched this year after PTV World, Capital TV, Abb Takk and Times.
