ISLAMABAD – Journalists unions Friday called for an end to victimization of Islamabad's senior journalist Shabbir Saham by the Gilgit-Baltistan government.
The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), Rawalpindi-Islamabad-Union of Journalists (RIUJ) and the National Press Club, Islamabad, condemned the government action to register a case under terrorism sections against Shabbir.
Afzal Butt (pictured), President PFUJ, said that the case was an uncalled for action, and an attempt to harass the journalist fraternity.
He warned that if the Gilgit-Baltistan government did not change its attitude, they would start protests.
