PARACHINAR —The district administration has arrested Syed Sajid Kazmi, a local journalist and member of Parachinar Press Club, for reportedly not vacating a government flat.
In response, members of the press club met the assistant commissioner Upper Kurram in the presence of local parliamentarians and expressed their concern over Kazmi's arrest.
According to local journalists, the detained journalist had regular allotment papers. "...His arrest is condemnable," they said during the meeting with the AC.
It was also decided in another meeting held at Parachinar Press Club that if Sajid Kazmi were not released, then a series of protests would be initiated in Parachinar and other tribal districts on a larger scale.
