Shamim Shahid has joined Jehan Pakistan, a newly launched Urdu-language newspaper. The publication aims to extend its operations to Lahore and Islamabad soon.

PESHAWAR: Senior journalist Shamim Shahid, a former Peshawar Press Club president has joined Urdu-language daily Jehan Pakistan that hit the newsstands in Karachi this week.

Shahid is a regular Urdu columnist writing for leading national dailies and previously worked for English newspapers including Pakistan Today and The Nation.

A publication of the University of Lahore, the new newspaper has a bureau office in Peshawar. Its managers plan to start publishing from Lahore soon, followed by Islamabad.

Mahmood Sham heads the paper as the group editor with Rana Tahir the senior editor.
