ISLAMABAD – The Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ) and National Press Club Tuesday staged a protest against the MQM-led attack on media houses in Karachi.
RIUJ President Ali Raza Alvi, Secretary Bilal Dar, NPC President Shakeel Anjum, and former President of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists delivered speeches.
They said that violence against journalists cannot stop them from speaking and reporting the truth.
Afzal Butt said that media persons needed to discuss and plan a collective strategy to avoid such attacks on the media.
Shakeel Anjum, while condemning the violence said such incidents cannot suppress the media. He too called for evolving a strategy to prevent such attacks in future.
