ISLAMABAD: PTV Home is the most viewed channel in Pakistan (cable and terrestrial viewers combined), having an average reach of 43.258% representing about 53 million viewers, according to Gallup Pakistan.
Star Plus is second with an average reach of 14.235% which represents about 17 million people while PTV News follows in third place on the list of Top 10 channels overall, with average reach of 12.297%.
In their October Cyberletter – a television audience measurement edition - Gallup Pakistan points out that PTV remains on top for being one of two free channels and does not require cable connection.
In Pakistan 45,000 villages and hundreds of towns do not have cable access. However, PTV does not fare too well among cable and satellite viewers, Gallup Pakistan said.
