ATTOCK—The local police have registered a defamation case against journalist Sami Ibrahim under Sections 505, 131, and 499 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
The sections deal with statements that promote enmity, hatred, and attempting to draw a soldier, sailor, or airman from his duty.
In an FIR lodged by advocate Akhtar Javaid, a resident of Attock city, the complainant said that he viewed 'Canadian Pak News,' a YouTube channel of Ibrahim, two weeks ago.
"The views and opinions expressed in the vlog are against right of speech with bad attention and used obnoxious words against judiciary and armed forces," the complainant stated.
Asking the police to take legal action, the complainant further said in the FIR that Ibrahim had hatched a conspiracy and spread rumors against state institutions.
