KARACHI —Sindh Police have arrested a fake woman journalist involved in extorting money by posing as a TV reporter in the Garden area.
The accused, identified as Fazila, had arrived with her companion to collect extortion money from a citizen, Darwesh when they were arrested red-handed. Police said her companion escaped.
According to police, the fake journalist had also earlier collected extortion from Darwesh, and she went to extort him again on Thursday when she was apprehended.
"She and her accomplice reportedly blackmailed citizens and extorted money by posing themselves as electronic media journalists," police stated.
