Photojournalist Faisal Mahmood drowns in water channel

ISLAMABAD – Faisal Mahmood, a photojournalist with Reuters, drowned in a water channel near Taxila on Sunday while trying to save two of his relatives. He was 43.

His friends said the incident occurred in Village Usman Khattak where the family had gone for a dip.

His colleagues were mourning Mahmood who worked for Reuters for several years. They remembered him as a true professional and a humble and friendly person.

His namaz-i-janaza is scheduled for Monday afternoon in Rawalpindi.
