PESHAWAR - A large number of journalists on Monday staged a protest outside the Peshawar Press Club against the Managing Director of Bank of Khyber who published an advertisement against a senior journalist in response to a news item.
The protesters called for the official's sacking and demanded a judicial commission investigate the irregularities in the bank.
The protest was backed by the Khyber Union of Journalists. Chanting slogans against the MD, the journalists alleged he was involved in corruption. They pointed out that the bank official had attempted to silence the press by publishing the advert.
