ISLAMABAD – Electronic media regulator PEMRA on Monday directed all satellite TV channels not to air content that casts aspersions on the judiciary while referring to the Diamer Basha Dam Fund.
The regulator said that news channels in their current affairs programs/talk shows repeatedly broadcast derogatory remarks and comments against the superior judiciary.
PEMRA reminded the channels to refrain from airing such content which is in violation of Electronic Media (Programs and Advertisements) Code of Conduct, 2015.
It also reiterated that the news organizations appoint in-house monitoring/editorial committees and to have time-delay mechanism in place.
