PEMRA serves show-cause notice on ARY

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has issued a show-cause notice to ARY News for airing a program that discussed a sub-judice case of money laundering against former President Asif Ali Zardari.

The program Power Play, hosted by Arshad Sharif, was aired on August 28.

The regulator has directed the news channel to respond to the notice within seven days.

Meanwhile, in light of the Supreme Court orders on Wednesday, PEMRA has issued an advisory to all news and current affairs channels that discussion on any sub-judice matter in any talk show is prohibited.
