ISLAMABAD – The Sargodha sub-office of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has directed all FM radio licensees under its jurisdiction to air anti-corruption messages of National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
In a circular issued on February 21 and titled ‘Collaboration with NAB in anti-corruption awareness campaign,’ PEMRA reminds the radio stations that “a licensee is obliged to broadcast public service programs which may be provided by the Authority or by the Government.”
PEMRA said that the anti-corruption messages be aired “in order to eradicate corruption across the country and help National Accountability Bureau…”
It was not immediately clear if a similar circular was sent to television channels.
The directive comes at a time when the drive against corruption has been stepped up by relevant authorities
