ISLAMABAD – Responding to a complaint by Pakistan Cricket Board about former captain Aamir Sohail’s comments against current skipper Sarfraz Ahmed, electronic media regulator PEMRA Tuesday served a show cause notice on Samaa for airing such content.
The PCB termed Sohail’s comments as baseless and irresponsible.
PEMRA has given Samaa three days to submit its reply, a media release said. The news organization’s CEO is required to appear for a hearing on June 23 while Aamir Sohail (pictured) can also present his point of view if he desires.
The Express Tribune quoted Sohail as saying after Pakistan beat Sri Lanka during the Champions Trophy: “[We won because of] prayers and God; and I cannot name the facilitators of those prayers. You [Sarfaraz] have done nothing special, this match was won for you, we all know how things work.”
