ISLAMABAD - The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has filed an appeal in the Supreme Court after the Sindh High Court granted a stay order to Geo Entertainment program Inaam Ghar.
On Monday PEMRA banned the program hosted by Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussain for three days for telecasting scenes of a suicide and letting an abuse go on air. However, the following day Justice Shahnawaz Tariq of the Sindh High Court suspended the ban and granted stay.
Meanwhile, PEMRA is also set to file another appeal in the Supreme Court against a separate Sindh High Court decision to grant a stay to Samaa Television.
Samaa had moved court after PEMRA banned reenactment of rapes, murders, and other crime shows.
