ISLAMABAD: Chaudhry Rasheed, Chairman of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) was sacked Thursday by President Mamnoon Hussain, media reports said.
He was removed in line with the procedure chalked out by the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
The government first fired Chaudhry on December 15 but the IHC reinstated him just hours later, declaring the government's action null and void.
Information Minister Pervez Rashid said at that time Chaudhry was accused of financial irregularities.
Chaudhry was appointed chairman in January last year by then President Asif Ali Zardari after a Supreme Court ruling barred acting chairman Dr Abdul Jabbar from assuming office.
