PEMRA bans airing of program 'Naked and Afraid' on Discovery channel

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has banned the program ‘Naked and Afraid’ aired by Discovery channel.

One Wold Alliance has landing rights permission to market and distribute this satellite channel.

The regulator said the content of the program was “highly obscene and vulgar” and that it had received complaints from viewers in this regard.

PEMRA said the landing rights permission holder was obliged to ensure that the content aired through its respective channel must conform with the PEMRA Code of Conduct 2015.

The ban comes into effect immediately. In case of non-compliance, legal action would be initiated, the regulator warned.
