ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has approved in principle to award licenses to rating companies on a case to case basis.
The decision came during a meeting at the PEMRA Headquarters.
The house approved the registration/accreditation of Television Audience Measurement (TAM)/Television Rating Points (TRP) Rating Service Regulations 2018.
The authority also approved five licenses of satellite TV broadcast stations. These will be awarded after the completion of procedural formalities. Bidding took place on September 11, 2018.
The officials also approved two landing rights permissions for foreign TV channels – M/s M3 Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd. For ‘MY TV’ under the children’s category and M/s Tower Sports (Pvt.) Ltd. for ‘Ten Sports Two’ under the sports category.
Chairman PEMRA Muhammad Saleem presided over the meeting.
