Nusrat Javeed commits blunder, apologizes

ISLAMABAD—Journalist Nusrat Javeed on Wednesday apologized for mentioning N. D. Khan, a leader of Pakistan Peoples Party, as deceased in his weekly column in Nawa-i-Waqt.

As soon as the veteran columnist realized his mistake, he tweeted his apology: "By the grace of God Professor N D Khan Sahib is alive and savoring his old age with grace. My column of Wednesday conveyed a different message. From the core of my heart I feel terribly ashamed for committing the unforgivable blunder."

In his column, while talking about a suo moto case before the Supreme Court, Nusrat informed readers that Attorney General Khalid Jawed Khan is the son of PPP leader N. D. Khan. Then he started talking about N. D. Khan as if he had passed away.

In another tweet, Nusrat said: "Just talked to Professor N D Khan Sahib. Too graciously he disregarded my unforgivable blunder and profusely prayed for my health and well being."
