Non-bailable arrest warrants issued for Dr. Shahid Masood
Dr. Shahid Masood faces non-bailable arrest warrants issued by a local court. He is under investigation for embezzling funds related to media rights.

ISLAMABAD - A local court here has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for NewsOne analyst and former chairman of Pakistan Television (PTV) Dr. Shahid Masood for allegedly embezzling Rs38 million.

Pakistan Today reported that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) wants to investigate Masood for signing an agreement with a fake company to obtain media rights for the Pakistan Cricket Board.

The FIA sought the warrants after the analyst deliberately avoided to join the investigation.

Senior Civil Judge Amir Aziz ordered that arrest warrants for Masood be issued upon FIA's request.

The analyst is presently serving a three-month ban imposed on him on March 20 by the Supreme Court for his false reporting about Imran Ali, the man who raped and murdered six-year-old Zainab in Kasur.
