LAHORE: Veteran journalist Arif Nizami, editor of English daily Pakistan Today is likely to join Dunya TV’s forthcoming Urdu newspaper as the group editor. Mian Amir Mehmood who owns Dunya TV is to give the go-ahead to this high-profile appointment on his return from abroad next week, an insider has told JournalismPakistan.com. Our source says although things are not final yet, there is a strong possibility of Nizami signing up along with some of his key men. Dunya TV plans to launch the newspaper this August and currently staff is being hired. Nizami’s Pakistan Today has run into serious financial difficulties in the past few months and reports say the ship remains in choppy waters.
