QUETTA—A court in Balochistan’s Barkhan district convicted the murderer of journalist Anwar Jan Khetran (pictured) to life imprisonment Wednesday.
According to local media reports, the Additional Sessions Judge, Tasawur Naveed, while announcing the judgment, also imposed a fine of Rs.200,000.
Senior journalist Anwar Jan Khetran was killed in a firing incident on July 23, 2020, in the Nahar Kot area of Barkhan district. The attackers had fled from the spot. However, law enforcement agencies apprehended the accused identified as Adam Khan.
Adam Khan and Nadar Khan were nominated in the First Information Report (FIR) for the murder.
Nadar Khan is still at large.
