ISLAMABAD – Senior journalist Khawar Ghumman, an analyst and program host at 92 News Television, is likely to be named Islamabad bureau chief soon.
Insiders tell JournalismPakistan.com that Ghumman, who joined the channel last October, could replace Mohsin Raza.
Raza, also a senior man, is currently reported to be on leave.
Ghumman spent 16 years in print journalism with Dawn where he was a special correspondent before switching to electronic media.
Insiders say the process of putting him at the helm has started. He currently co-hosts the program Bakhabar Subh.
He is also the editor reporting of 92 News’ English newspaper which is likely to begin publishing after the group’s Urdu newspaper is launched later this month.
