Kamal-ud-Din Tipu appointed acting chairman PEMRA
Kamal-ud-Din Tipu is the newly appointed acting chairman of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority. He replaces Pervez Rathore following an official notification.

ISLAMABAD: The government has appointed Kamal-ud-Din Tipu as acting chairman of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA). An official notification to this effect has also been issued. He replaces Pervez Rathore as acting chief of the media regulatory body. Almost a year ago, President Mamnoon Hussain fired the then PEMRA chief Chaudhry Rashid Ahmad on April 18, 2014. Ahmad was removed on the advice of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Tipu was serving as one of the members of PEMRA.
