Judge finds Matiullah Jan's reply unsatisfactory; asks for a detailed response
Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui has deemed Matiullah Jan's reply insufficient in a contempt of court case. He has ordered a detailed response from Jan and Waqt News management.

ISLAMABAD – Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of the Islamabad High Court on Monday termed Waqat News anchor Matiullah Jan’s reply as unsatisfactory and ordered him and the channel’s management to submit a response in detail.

Justice Siddiqui was hearing a contempt of court case against Matiullah who hosts the program Apna Apna Gareban.

The contempt notice relates to a show aired on February 5 that was about the encroachment of a football ground in Sector F-8 by lawyers. The judge said his name was unnecessarily brought up in the program and that Matiullah aired unverified information.

Justice Siddiqui warned he would ban live telecast of current affairs talk shows if anchors continued to air unauthentic information.
