SRINAGAR—A journalist has gone missing in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir, KMS reported.
The family from Bijbhera area of Islamabad district has lodged a report with police, stating that their 23-year-old son went missing on August 6.
“Today one Abdul Hamid Butt of Veeri Biibehara reported to police station Bijbhera along with written application, mentioning therein that his son namely Rayees Ahmad Butt aged about 23/24 years (working with Valley News Service), is missing, since 6 August 2021,” a police official said.
“Rayees is working as a media person. Further verification into the matter is going on,” the official added.
It is worth mentioning here that the journalist was subjected to severe torture several times by Indian police in the past.
