Javed Iqbal joins Pushto-language Mashriq TV as CEO
Javed Iqbal has taken on the role of CEO at Mashriq TV, a new Pushto-language channel based in Peshawar. Test transmissions are scheduled to begin in April.

ISLAMABAD: Senior broadcast journalist Javed Iqbal, once the face of Geo News, has joined Pushto-language Mashriq Television as its Chief Executive Officer.

Iqbal told JournalismPakistan.com Tuesday the channel owned by Mashriq Group of Newspapers, is likely to start its test transmission this April. With its headquarters in Peshawar, Mashriq TV will also have offices in several major cities.

Previously with BOL, Iqbal also has had stints at Dunya News and Capital TV. At Mashriq, he will be conducting a talk show four days a week.

However, Iqbal said he will continue to appear as an analyst/guest on different television channels.
