Police manhandle Hum News journalist in Nowshera
A Hum News journalist faced police violence while covering a dispute in Akora Khattak, Nowshera. The police attempted to obstruct his reporting and confiscated his phone.

PESHAWAR—The police marked the World Press Freedom Day on Sunday by manhandling a correspondent of Hum News for covering a fight between two groups in Muhajir Bazaar of Akora Khattak in Nowshera.

As the fighting between two groups of Afghan refugees began, police reportedly looked the other way.

However, when journalist Muhammad Amin started covering the incident, the police tried to stop him. Although he proved his journalistic identity, the cops paid no heed and snatched his phone and pointed a gun at him.
