ISLAMABAD: Veteran journalist Iftikhar Ahmad has joined Dunya Media Group as senior anchorperson and columnist and will start hosting a current affairs program soon. A source tells JournalismPakistan.com that he first signed a contract with Channel 24 but later reviewed his decision on a request of Kamran Khan who joined Dunya Group as President and Editor-in-Chief. Ahmad started his career in journalism in 1980 and worked for numerous publications. He joined Jang Group in 1986 as a reporter and remained associated with them until October 2014. He hosted the popularprogram 'Jawab Deyh' on Geo News. Along with many other senior journalists, he had joined upcoming BOL News as Senior Executive Vice President but quit after a controversy emerged about Axact, the parent company of BOL. The source said Ahmad’s team that includes producer and research staff has also joined Dunya News. Ahmad will also be writing a weekly article for Daily Dunya, an Urdu-language publication of the group.
