PESHAWAR - Senior broadcast journalist Musarrat Ullah Jan (pictured) has been selected for the SAF-Madanjeet Scholarship and will represent Pakistan at the Asian College of Journalists (ACJ) in Chennai, India.
Musarrat, who works for Dunya News Television, is the first journalist from Khyber Pukhtunkhwa to win this honor. A former vice present of Khyber Union of Journalists, will spend a year at the college to complete this post-graduate fellowship. During his stay he will learn about the new journalism trends, cyber space, social media, etc.
Founded by UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Madanjeet Singh in 2000, the South Asia Foundation (SAF) is a secular, non-profit and non-political organization.
Ambassador Singh, played a seminal role in making the Asian College of Journalism what it is today. He contributed liberally to the building of the new campus at Taramani, Chennai.
The annual scholarship grant enables young women and men from South Asia and each constituent state of SAARC to study at the ACJ.
