HBO airs indecent scenes, gets PEMRA notice

ISLAMABAD – For airing vulgar scenes in a movie, regulator PEMRA Tuesday issued a show-cause notice to HBO.

The movie was shown at 7.30am and included scenes which the watchdog said could not be acceptable to Pakistani viewers. The name of the film was not mentioned.

PEMRA said it also goes to show that the channel’s owners, senior management and editorial committee (if at all it exists) have failed to perform their duties.

The management has been given seven days to submit its reply and explain why a fine of Rs1 million not be imposed or its license suspended or canceled.
