KARACHI: In a second targeted attack on media persons in 24 hours, journalist Aftab Alam was gunned down Wednesday in North Karachi.
Police said that Alam was attacked just when he was leaving to pick up his children from school. Reports said that two gunmen on a motorbike fired a single shot that hit the journalist in the head. He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. Alam previously worked for Geo and Samaa Television channels.
On Tuesday, gunmen attacked a Geo DSNG van in Karachi’s Bahadurabad neighborhood that killed technician Arshad Ali Jaffery leaving the driver injured.
