ISLAMABAD—The federal government has announced a working journalist health insurance card in the 2023-24 financial year budget.
After the budget speech, Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb (pictured) tweeted: “Delighted to announce that an allocation has been made in the budget for health insurance of working journalists for the first time ever.”
She added that for this initiative, one billion rupees have been allocated. She thanked Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar for giving funds for this initiative. “As Information Minister, it was one of my goals to be able to arrange this facility for working journalists, especially during these difficult times.”
