Geo, Jang Group President Imran Aslam passes away

LAHORE—Renowned journalist and President of Geo, Jang Group, Imran Aslam, passed away on Friday at 70. He was hospitalized for several days following a prolonged illness.

Aslam was one of the founding members of Pakistan's prominent newspaper The News (Jang Group) where he served as the chief news editor and senior editor during his career.

Successful channels of Jang Group such as Geo News, Geo Entertainment, Geo Super were launched under Aslam's supervision. He also wrote over 60 successful plays that graced the stage and TV over the years.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, and JUIF chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman expressed grief over Aslam's death.
