ISLAMABAD – Electronic media regulator PEMRA has issued a show-cause notice to Geo News for airing abusive words in its program Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath on Tuesday.
Talal Chaudhary, Minister of State for Interior uttered the words that PEMRA said could be called indecent and against the commonly accepted norms of society.
The regulator said the channel had violated several PEMRA (Amendment) Act clauses and the Electronic Media Code of Conduct 2015.
Geo has seven days to submit a reply. The channel’s CEO is also required to appear for a personal hearing.
