KARACHI: Sadaf Akhtar, a former online content editor at Samaa Television has been murdered at her father's home in Karachi, reports said.
Police said she was murdered with a carpenter's adze in an incident they said was a robbery. Ms. Akhtar, a single parent was struck multiple times with the tool.
A Samaa correspondent said she died a painful death. Police said Ms Akhtar was the mother of two minor girls and had moved in with her family in PIB Colony after her husband died years ago.
Samaa, quoting the police said Ms Akhtar was killed resisting robbery or the perpetrators, suspected to be a married couple of domestics namely Nadeem and Nafeesa, did not want to leave any trace behind. Police have begun investigations.
Ms Akhtar worked for Samaa for five years before quitting seven months ago.
