ISLAMABAD: Khalid Jameel, a former Director News at Rohi TV has joined Apna’s Urdu channel that is likely to go on air soon. He joins the team as a special correspondent with the channel readying for the impending launch which could be later this month or at the start of 2013.
Khalid has also worked as the Islamabad Bureau Chief of Aaj TV.
The management of the forthcoming channel already runs the Punjabi-language Apna News, Apna Entertainment and Kook TV. The network is owned by Fahad Hussain Shah, who also recently bought India’s 8XM.
Nasir Baig Chughtai, once a familiar face on Geo TV is the Director News and Current Affairs of the new channel with Farrukh Tanveer, previously Geo’s Senior Assignment Editor, the bureau chief in Islamabad.
The channel’s name has not been announced yet.
