FIA arrests journalist for blackmailing businessman
The FIA has arrested a journalist in connection with a blackmail case involving a businessman. The arrested individual is accused of extorting money through threats and propaganda.

MUZAFFARGARH —The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a journalist based in Rajanpur involved in allegedly blackmailing a businessman for extorting money.

Complainant Amjad Farooq, a businessman and land developer, said Qadeer Ahmad and Akhtar Malik (also a journalist) had launched a propaganda campaign against him through a social media channel, Facebook and different WhatsApp numbers.

FIA (Multan circle) registered a case against the journalist, and his accomplice under Sections 13, 14, 20, 24, PECA 2016 R/w 384, 419, 420, 506, 109 of PPC.

However, Malik, the other accused, is on pre-arrest bail till March 5.
