ISLAMABAD: Directorate Customs Intelligence and Investigation of Federal Board of Revenue served a notice Monday on BOL News Television, seeking details of all the machinery imported for the channel.
The notice has been sent to the channel's Chairman and CEO Shoaib Ahmed Sheikh. It says that all equipment for the channel has been imported through illegal means and ways and required duties and taxes on the import have also not been paid.
It asks Axact, the parent company of BOL, that the management should submit documents with the FBR to prove their innocence in the alleged misappropriation of taxes and duties.
The receipts and airway bills of all the imported equipment for the channel should also be submitted for verification and further investigation, it says.
