Environmental Journalists Association of Pakistan elects executive body
The Environmental Journalists Association of Pakistan has elected new office-bearers during a meeting in Lahore. The focus will be on addressing pressing environmental issues in the country.

LAHORE - Environment Journalists Association of Pakistan (EJAP) elected its executive body for the year 2018-19 during its monthly meeting held at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industries.

A large number of environmental journalists working in different news organizations in Lahore attended the meeting.

Samiullah Randhawa (pictured) was elected as president, Ms Xari Jaleel as secretary, Amir Zahid Baig (vice president) and while Abdul Qadir Madni as the treasurer.

The house also elected Iqtidar Gillani, Muzaffar Sial, Shahzada Irfan, Saif Cheema and Nawaz Sangra as the members of the governing body.

The newly-elected office-bearers pledged to highlight environmental changes happening inside the country as well as in the region.

EJAP President Samiullah Randhawa said there was a dire need to highlight the environmental issues and EJAP will knock doors of the authorities in this regard.

The executive body also announced to open membership of EJAP.
