Dunya makes another big signing

ISLAMABAD: The Dunya Media Group has stepped up a gear in hiring big name journalists and senior columnist Haroon ur Rasheed is their latest signing.

A source tells JournalismPakistan.com that Haroon who was associated with Urdu daily Jang has joined in as the head of editorial pages of the yet-to-be-published Roznama Dunya.

His appointment comes on the heels of another star signing last week of Muhammad Malick, the Resident Editor of The News. He will be managing an English daily the Dunya plans to publish.

Malick has been hired as a group editor English and is also likely to appear regularly on Dunya News, the group’s television channel.

Meanwhile, the Dunya mangers are said to be in negotiations with another senior man – Abbas Athar, Group Editor and columnist at the Daily Express.
