Dr. Shahid Masood to be indicted on January 10
Dr. Shahid Masood faces indictment on January 10 in a corruption case linked to PTV. He was arrested after losing a pre-arrest bail application.

ISLAMABAD – Prominent anchor Dr. Shahid Masood is to be indicted on January 10 in an alleged Pakistan Television (PTV) corruption case.

A challan against him has been submitted in a special court hearing the case.

He was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) after the Islamabad High Court dismissed his pre-arrest bail on November 23.

It is alleged that he entered into a contract with a fake company for earning media rights from the Pakistan Cricket Board. As a result of this, PTV reportedly suffered a financial loss of Rs38 million.

Masood is a political analyst and president of Airwaves Media Group that runs NewsOne Television, TVOne, Waseeb, and RadioOne.
