ISLAMABAD – For defying its order, electronic media regulator PEMRA Thursday issued a show-cause notice to BOL News.
The channel ignored an October 6 PEMRA directive to air an apology for casting aspersions on a serving Army officer in its program Aisay Nahi Chalay Ga.
In that program, hate-based comments were aired against the officer who is posted in a war zone and his identity was revealed. The regulator said it was a violation of the Electronic Media Code of Conduct 2015.
BOL has seven days to respond to the show-cause notice and its CEO has also been called to appear for a personal hearing on October 26.
